“He has a pass to dance as long as he wants.”
—The New York Times

The Kahilu Theatre is very pleased to welcome two legendary dancers, Ana Laguna and Mikhail Baryshnikov, to Waimea. They will be performing the work of three accomplished contemporary choreographers: Alexei Ratmansky, Benjamin Millepied and Mats Ek. Ana Laguna has been much lauded for her luminous performances with Sweden’s Cullberg Ballet where she performed major roles choreographed for her by it s artistic director Mats Ek. Mikhail Baryshnikov, Founder and Artistic Director of the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York , has focused his attention in recent years to working with today’s most talented contemporary choreographers. Among these are tonight’s creative forces: celebrated Swedish choreographer Mats Ek , Alexei Ratmansky, past Artistic Director of the Bolshoi Ballet and now an artist in residence at American Ballet Theatre, and Benjamin Millepied, principal with New York City Ballet and director of his own Danses Concertantes.

Presented through the generous support of Kate Bell PhD and Tom Blackburn PhD, Mike Luce and Suzanne Hill, Michael Bonahan and Ricci Racela, Performing Arts Presenters of Hawaii, and the Mauna Kea Resort
