The theatre is here because of the community’s continued support, not just through enthusiastic attendance at our events, but through donations. It is through donations that we are able to balance the budget. Without donations we cannot exist.
Kahilu Theatre Foundation does receive donations from foundations, both local and national. One of the criteria they look for when evaluating our requests is the number of community members that donate funds to the organization. They are not just looking at how much each individual gift is, but at how many people and businesses give to the organization, as well as buy tickets to its presentations.
